Mercury Tower is a 70-story, 160.000 sqm signature skyscraper for Mercury Development Company of Moscow which is currently under construction just down the Moskova River from the Kremlin and Red Square. Situated within in the new complex of offices, hotels, shopping and theaters is a complex called MOSCOW CITY. The total development of 4 million sqm, with a 12 billion dollar development cost. A new subway station recently opened in the cent of the complex.
Moscow is going through an architectural renaissance. The city has a "built architectural form" that is rich in complexity and scale. As a result, the design of Mercury City Tower ties into the city's fabric and has a strong reference to Russian Constructivism. This Constructivism gives the tower a strong vertical thrust similar to the one found in New York's Chrysler Building.
The new tower is sheathed in a light, warm silver glass that will act as a background for Moscow's new City Hall, which has a rich red glass roofscape. This new City Hall sits adjacent to Mercury City Tower.
PY Consulting is proud of collaborating with SOYAK International, the main contractor of this prestigious complex and providing project management advisory services.
